The rest of my post! I was caught by the 3,000 character limit, so cut some out of my post above, including some points now made by Pat, so here they are and should be read in context of the above:

Comparative Cost of Images Replicas kits: In contrast, using the currently available injection molded Images Replicas R-17's, R-22, R-29 kits costing from $129.95 to $189.95, with the addition of a Bowser drive (albeit undersized with a 6'6" wheelbase) at a list price of $46.50, for example, would result in scale sets costing from $166.95 to $236.95, plus the cost of the I-R trucks @ $12 a set. Modelers wanting a scale length 7' wheelbase powered truck have several options, not limited to the under floor power of NWSL PDT's or Tenshodo SPUD's.

So that is why I believe Mike at IHP would benefit with sales from all modelers with scale prototypes, especially of models never produced or those done years ago in brass only. Still, no mater which way he goes, the shells, whether fitted to Proto chassis or not would still require a considerable amount of time for proper painting.

Ps. NOT KNOCKING PK 1: All the above is still not meant as any put down of the PK1 IRT cars, they have been and will continue to be a great boon for HO scale subway modeling and are the answer to bringing in people quickly to our exciting world of subway and mass transit modeling. Remarkable, when you think of it that RTR NYC Subway equipment exists at all!

(And you can bet that even I might succumb to a quick fix of a string of PK1 R-36's in their original NYWF paint to run as stand alone trainset). However, that would not sidetrack me from my goal of pursuing financing and building a set of the beautiful scale MTS resin R-33,36 models that I could mix with my Images-Replicas IRT "LAHT/SMEE" cars for later prototypical mixed operation.

But like most of you who have written, I sincerely wish the PK1's were all scale. Meanwhile, is anyone else besides me writing to Walthers/Proto, letting them know we'd like them to upgrade to scale size when they are able?

Jay (Apologies if this is a double post, was not sure it "took" the first time.)
