A neat urban layout and good information on the site. Kalis certainly captures the look of the place. An uncle had worked on the BEDT from the mid '40s to the mid '60s and had mentioned the LIRR in Long Island City so I finally visted the area about eight years ago. I had wondered about the plant that served the Van Iderstine tank cars when I saw the decals sold by Bill Mostetler and there it is. Just took a aerial tour of that neighborhood and the Montalk Branch via Microsoft Earth, well worth a look. Bet the LIRR modelers are happy seeing the new 5 axle LIRR C-Liners out this year and speculating on Atlas' LIRR C-420 high hoods probably out in '08, eh?
